Mental Health, let’s chat.

My mental health has been my top struggle this past year.
With Corona, the cancelation of so many things I was looking forward to, loss of friends physically and emotionally, this year has truly been rough. I have struggled with anxiety my entire life, ever since I was little. I’ve always hated sleeping out with friends on weekends because I was so anxious about leaving the comfort of my own bed. In the past months, my anxiety seems to have hit its peak.
Depression, on the other hand, is brand new to me. With everything that has happened to me in the past year, a dark and sad time overcame me and there didn’t feel like there was a way to escape it. It was really challenging to fight through and I still am fighting through it as I type this.
Mental health is seriously not a joke and should be in more conversations. It should be as equally important as your physical health is! We shouldn’t ever feel embarrassed about saying we see a therapist when we need help because it should be as normal as saying that you see your regular doctor when you have a cold.
